Let’s face it, most of the shoes particularly boots are often sold on the rack with specific shoe sizes available. Seldom have you seen them in other sizes particularly in the calves’ area. Yes, aside from huge shoe sizes, there is also what we call wide shaft boots. These are boots that are designed specifically for women who do have larger calves compared to an ordinary slim looking woman we often see.
The most coveted design for boots is the knee-high type and this has been selling like pancakes on the shoe rack. Next stop is how to get the right pair of big calf boots. Well, all you need to have is a tape measure. Sit properly on a chair while resting both of your legs. Then, measure the width of one of your calf. Be sure that you are taken a measurement that is not too tight or not too loose; just enough room to have blood circulates while you are walking around on the streets. If you are the type of person who wants to wear socks while wearing a pair of boots, it is a must that you do put socks on before you measure. In this way, you will be assured of that you are getting the right measurement with the socks on. However, if you don’t fancy wearing socks, just measure your calves bare.
After all the measurements have been done, it is now time to put your skills on the quest. Go to a shoe store and look for the right pair of boots. You give the measurement to the sales assistant if you are uncertain and ask if they have available stocks for the measurement you have on a particular design you like. After which, wear both wide width boots and walk around with them. Feel the boots and check whether you are feeling comfortable or a bit discomfort.
Just because you like the design of the big calf boots, it does not mean that you must suffer in the name of beauty. Always keep in mind comfort and design must go together. Absence of either these two will lead to fashion demise.
